I got into this business to sell houses and because I loved architecture but lately I feel like I’ve been more like a counselor than a broker. A lot of my clients are first time home buyers so they’ve got tons of needs and questions and it’s taken me a while to realize it’s all part of the deal when they’re giving me commission. I talk about everything from directtv CA to insurance agents in town to the best bars you can walk to from certain neighborhoods you wouldn’t believe the things people ask me! I love doing this job and in this economy it’s been helpful to have something else set me apart and if it’s my rapport then so be it. I’m hoping I can ride out the downturn and all signs point to that being possible but I guess we’ll have to wait a few more years and see what happens. I love this business but now is not a great time to be a real estate agent as anyone else can tell you!
